In Love: Jamie & Stephen’s Phoenix Engagement Session

Stunning Phoenix Engagement Session

Jamie was doing a search for local photographers for his phoenix engagement session, and stumbled upon my website, almost by accident. It just so happens he found a page that isn’t normally live on my site. I couldn’t be more excited that he did. We shared an initial couple of laughs through email over the story, and we got to know each other a little better. Jamie told me more about himself and his partner, Stephen. He told me about how they moved to Arizona, met in Peoria in January of 2016 doing a production of Fiddler on the Roof, and have been together ever since.  He told me a little bit of how they want their wedding to be a little different than traditional weddings, with a focus on fun, games, and conversation.  They wanted to create an experience, and lasting memories. That’s the approach I take towards photography.  I knew we’d be a great match for each other.

Scheduling Their Engagement Session

Through our conversation, Jamie also told me how they moved to Phoenix from Montana and Michigan, and having the presence of cacti in their engagement photos was important to them. Also, they weren’t too keen on an entire session of posed photos. They wanted authentic images that captures their personality and quirkiness. These are the types of images I like to captures – photos that show the true personality of someone.

I offered some suggestions on locations for them, and he chose a date later in the fall so that the weather would be cooler. Little did we know that the Phoenix area would still be hitting 100+ days in the middle of September. They chose Usery Mountain Regional Park for their engagement session location.

I can’t begin to tell you how much fun this session was. From their jumping high-fives, aerial thumbs ups, and dancing, it was the perfect session. Although, it was a little hotter than expected, and the sun was a bit brighter longer, their engagement session ended with the warm glow, and beautiful colors of Arizona’s sunsets.

Engagement Session Portraits

Jamie and Stephen’s session was full of love and laughter, making it difficult to pick a few highlights from. I wish I could share all of the photos from their engagement session. But, here are a few of the highlights showcasing their love.
