I recently connected with Christina on Facebook, as she was looking to get some maternity photos done. We started off by talking about some different ideas, and we both quickly loved the idea of capturing some photos along the gorgeous Salt River in Arizona. Just about a half hour drive from downtown Phoenix, this little oasis offers some beautiful hiking trails, tubing, and even a chance to see the wild horses up close and personal.
We planned our day a little closer to her due date, and decided on a late evening shoot to take advantage of golden hour lighting. Shooting any other time than super early or evening in Arizona is definitely not ideal. The week leading up didn’t give us the best weather, with cold temps (at least for Arizona) and some rain. Luckily, the day of, we have beautiful weather. It was actually a little brighter than I normally like, but still better than the cold and rain.
I had a blast meeting Christina and her husband, and capturing some maternity photos for them as they welcome their first child. Here’s a glimpse a few of the images from her maternity session at the Salt River.
